The Cognitive Vision Story
Cognitive Vision has considerable expertise in leading-edge signal
and image processing technologies. The company was founded in 1996
by a group of engineers to provide an innovative design for the
development of a scalable "true-pattern-to-database" photomask
inspection system. In a follow-on contract, Cognitive Vision jointly
developed a wide bandwidth acoustic intercept system for shipboard
applications that featured a fully integrated analysis capability.
Demand continues to increase for high quality, custom engineering
services and innovative solutions to complex signal processing problems.
Once the professional services division was firmly established,
the company took advantage of its engineering competitive edge and
decided to market its own line of instrumentation. In 1999, Cognitive
Vision underwent a strategic expansion by acquiring the entire suite
of portable signal processing instrumentation and related peripheral
equipment sourced from Spectral Dynamics of San Diego, Scientific
Atlanta, Inc., and Signal Processing Systems. This product line
has a 30-year legacy of solving tough industrial problems in many
different industries. These products are well respected among skilled
engineers, operators and technicians as being the premier instruments
of choice when versatility and reliable performance are paramount.
Hundreds of these rugged and durable systems have been in use worldwide,
with many outlasting their purchasing agents in "on the job"
tenure. They continue to be in high demand by various Fortune 500
companies, foreign and domestic government agencies, and military
services. Our instruments have been used in a wide variety of data
acquisition and import applications including rotating machinery,
noise and vibration analysis, acoustics, thermal and structural
analysis, electronic and biochemical measurements, forensic analysis,
and physical testing, to name a few.
